Chapter 0318

He gives a cold smile. "You call Athena your sibling, yet she isn't even searching for you."

"You know nothing! You have no idea who I am!" She would be looking. Maybe not in person, but she had every reason to want me dead.

He reaches out, tucking a stray strand of my wild hair behind my ear. "I know far more than you realize. But it's time this is gone." His fingers twist into my hair, yanking my head back as he calls out for someone.

The older woman from my first day here enters. She carries a tray with scissors, shaving foam, and a new razor.

"Stay still now, or I might slip and cut something important," Levi warns.

He shaves every strand from my head. The razor scrapes painfully close to my scalp. I watch dark locks fall onto the bed around me. Tears burn behind my eyes, but I refuse to let them fall. I loved my hair. But I won't give him the satisfaction. When I escape this hellhole, I will skin him alive.

Once he finishes, he grabs my face, leaning inches from me. "Next time, make sure you eat."

"You shaved my head because I didn't eat? Are you insane?"

He smirks and walks out with the older woman. The door slams shut. The bolt slides back into place. My hands fly to my head. It's completely smooth. Not a single hair remains. He's done this before.

I hate it. I hate him. I hate what he's turning me into.

I glare up at the camera, wishing I could tear it from the wall. It's too high to reach. The bed is bolted down. I keep staring, hoping he's watching. Hoping he sees the hatred boiling inside me.

He's the first person to truly outsmart me. I hate him more than I hate Athena. But I wonder what she would think if she knew about him. Would she kill him? Or would she thank him for punishing me?

Something tells me she'd want him dead.

My eyes shift from the camera to the door. Something's happening outside. I can't hear clearly. Levi took that from me. Muffled sounds echo. Footsteps. Some are running. Others sound like skipping?

An alarm blares. A red beacon flashes above my door. The noise fills the room. The bolt slides back. The door cracks open. No one enters. More footsteps echo outside. I glance at the drip bag attached to my arm. I have maybe twelve hours left. Unless I find another. Either way, I'm getting out.

Quietly, I push the door open. Bodies litter the hallway. None have drip bags. They didn't learn. Or no one told them. They made it out only to collapse.

I look both ways. Every door is open. Someone broke out. Or someone is overthrowing Levi. I don't care which.

I duck into one room. Quickly, I tie off the remaining fluid in the drip bag. Then I enter the opposite room. I find an almost full bag. That's twenty-four hours. I have roughly forty hours total. But I need to move now.

The building is a maze. I try to map the areas I've been taken to. I pass other escapees. They don't stop. They're doing the same thing I am. Collecting drip bags to survive.

One stops to look at me. His eyes travel to my shaved head, then to the bags in my arms.

"Don't even think about it," I snarl. I need enough to find a witch. That's all.

"FIND HER NOW!" Levi's roar echoes down the hall.

I duck into an empty room. Once he passes, I race in the direction he came from. I push open every door until one leads outside.

The sun is blinding. It burns my eyes. Being kept in a windowless room altered my vision. But I don't have time to adjust. I keep moving.

I run as fast as my legs can carry me. Without a Lycan, I'm painfully slow.
