Chapter 0475

Theodore grins, and that arrogant smirk makes my blood boil. I step around Zachary, squaring up to the half-Witch. He stared down at me, our height difference painfully obvious. If his hands weren't restrained by Theodore, I'd be standing too close for comfort.

"What's so amusing, Levi?" I press a single claw tip against his abdomen, just below his navel. His smile vanishes instantly, replaced by a flash of agony in his eyes.

"I gave him the same injection he used on the others," Theodore informs me. "He can't project. He can't heal. He's completely powerless."

"Is that true?" I push the claw deeper. Levi clenches his jaw, breathing heavily through the pain. It must be excruciating, but he hides it well.

"Tell me, Levi. Why did you think you had the right to do this to so many people?"

His lips part slightly, just enough to mutter the word 'punishment'.

"Then what should your punishment be?" I retract the claw, and he hunches forward, cursing under his breath.

I hear Jasmine whispering to Evelyn. "She can control her shift?"

"Yes."

"Holy hell!"

Zachary snaps his head toward her but stays silent.

"I've already been punished," Levi mutters.

"For what?"

"Doing the Moon Goddess's job," he snarls.

I see Evelyn shake her head and roll her eyes.

I drive another claw into him, and he hisses in pain. "I can keep this up all day."

"Then fucking kill me, you whore."

Why do they always resort to that word?

Levi stumbles sideways as Zachary lands a right hook, cracking his jaw. My claw slices through his stomach effortlessly. He collapses to the ground as Theodore releases him.

Levi presses his hands into the dirt, forcing himself up. Blood soaks through his already stained shirt. "Remember, Athena, there's always someone worse."

"Who are you talking about?"

He grins at me again, blood staining his perfect white teeth.

My gaze shifts to the women behind him. Evelyn watches intently while Jasmine covers her mouth.

Levi spits a mouthful of blood at me, laughing when it hits my cheek. "I should have come for you, though you were never my target. The precious last female Alpha. You would've made an excellent trophy. Such pretty blue eyes. Pity you're female."

He presses against his wounds and drops to his knees. He continues hurling slurs at me. Theodore grabs Levi's head, his hands firm on either side, and twists until we hear the sickening crack of his neck.

Theodore releases him, and for a moment, Levi's body remains perfectly still. A gentle breeze pushes him, and he collapses the short distance to the ground.

Evelyn gasps as Theodore meets my eyes. "It was always meant to be me, Athena. I couldn't listen to him speak to you like that any longer."

I nod, too stunned to form words. I never expected Theodore to go through with it, but he proved his loyalty beyond doubt.

"Okay, I thought Alpha Julian was insane, but you people might have just outdone him," Jasmine splutters.

Evelyn steps forward and looks down at her brother. "You finally got what you deserved, Levi. I warned you years ago that you'd mess with the wrong person." Her grey eyes meet mine. "Thank you."

"So what now?" Jasmine asks. "We just stand here over..." She sniffs the air. "I can smell you." She turns to face Zachary, pointing a finger at him. "And I can definitely smell you."
