Chapter 0434

"You're joking, right?" I stare at him.

He gives me a twisted smile. "Don't you find it amusing?"

I remain silent.

Levi's eyes dart between me, Alexander, and Caleb. "Where is my sister?"

"What did you do to him?" Alexander demands, pointing at Theodore.

"Nothing permanent. He'll recover fully in a few days. He won't even remember we were here."

"You harmed him?" I ask. He claimed to be Theodore's mate yet hurt him. Some men were truly despicable.

"I couldn't risk him sending you secret messages, could I?" Levi beams. "Now, where's my sister?"

"She's in the dungeon," Alexander replies.

'This is a trap!' Nyx exclaims.

"Well hurry up and bring her to me," Levi commands.

I step closer to the gate, gripping the bars. "Why are you doing this? We don't know each other."

"You're right. We're strangers," Levi mutters.

"Why Hannah?"

"Right place, right time." He smiles coldly. "Don't tell me you've never taken advantage of a situation. I wouldn't believe that. I've heard all about you, Athena. I know how you enjoy tearing out hearts."

"Theodore told you that?"

"No."

Julian told Seraphina. Seraphina probably told him. Alexander links me.

Levi shakes his head. "Theodore refused to give me information no matter how I pressed him. It's annoying how he treats me. I am his mate."

I snort. He was insane.

"You find that funny?" He frowns.

"I think you have a twisted understanding of what mates are." I glance at Theodore, who sways slightly, head bowed. He was both present and absent.

"None of this makes sense," I mutter to Alexander.

"It doesn't need to make sense," Levi smiles. "Now, bring me my sister or I'll kill you all."

"Your sister for Theodore," Alexander spits.

"No."

"It's a trade," Alexander frowns.

"I want both. My sister and my mate. It's cruel to make me choose. I wouldn't expect you to choose between Athena and Julian or Athena and Isabella."

"That's not how this works," Alexander growls. I understood his anger. This man had infiltrated our pack, learning everything about us.

"Wrong. This is how it doesn't work for you. I leave with both."

"He's not your mate!"

Levi points at Alexander. "I've heard that before. Theodore denies it too. But I can smell him. It's the most intoxicating scent. Someone is lying, and I hate lies."

"Says the constant liar," I mutter.

"You're mistaken. I'll let that slide this time." Levi's eyes narrow. "I bend the truth, but I don't lie. I share only what I want."

"You make prisoners believe they're your mates. Isn't that a lie?"

He frowns deeply.

'Does he genuinely not consider that lying?' Nyx wonders.

I watch Theodore. His eyes lift toward me. The grey fades, replaced by his usual deep green. Whatever Levi gave him wasn't as effective as planned.

Theodore's swaying slows. He blinks several times as Levi demands Alexander fetch Evelyn.

"I'll get her if you hand over Theodore," Alexander states. "It's simple."

"You don't understand, Alexander. This isn't your decision. It's mine. I'm leaving with both."

Hook to Alexander. 'We can't let him take both.'

"I can protect him," Levi continues. "He'll have the best life with me. I'll provide everything he needs. Trust me, he'll be safer with me."

"You call this safe? He's bound and drugged. You're delusional. I am your Alpha." I glare. "You might not feel it now, but I will make you feel it. I will make you suffer."

He laughs. "Go get my sister, princess."

"Don't!" Theodore shouts. "She's behind all of this!"
