"We're leaving." I announce to Jasmine.

She peeks around the doorframe, a spoon between her lips. Stepping into the room, she holds a jar of jam in one hand, carefully scooping another portion.

"You're actually going through with it?" She licks the spoon clean. "I assumed you changed your mind since you took so long." She sets the jar down, smacking her lips.

"Wait, can someone tell me where I am? He took me in the middle of the night. I'm completely lost." *A few miles from Obsidian Howl."

"That's it? That's all I've managed to figure out." She glares at a smirking Levi. "You absolute prick."

"What is it?" I ask.

"I'm from Dawnmist."

"Dawnmist? Where is that?"

She glances at Levi. "It was formerly called Crestwood City. The new Alpha renamed it."

*Alpha Julian renamed the pack?"

*Alpha Julian has been dead for ages. The new Alpha is Alpha Silas. He slaughtered the Alpha, took control, and moved his men in."

*He wasn't already part of the pack?"

She shakes her head. "He was an outsider."

I turn to Levi. "And you didn't think he deserved punishment?"

He just smirks at me. I might ask Athena to remove his lips first. Permanently.

*He wants to rule all Wolves." Jasmine informs us.

"Well, he took one pack."

*No, you don't understand. All Wolves. Everywhere. He believes they should all bow to him."

"Why?"

She shrugs. "The usual reasons, I suppose. Some people are just power-hungry. Nothing else matters to them. The problem is, many agree with him."

"Get what you wanted, mate?" Levi asks.

*You are not my mate." I tell him yet again. "What did you do, Jasmine?"

"Well, I sort of made a promise I never intended to keep."

"What kind of promise?" Evelyn asks, completely engrossed in the gossip.

*Honestly, it's not that terrible. He just... didn't take it well. If he catches me, he will kill me. Without a doubt."

*It must be bad." Evelyn scoffs.

*You're all so dramatic." She throws her hands up and flops onto the sofa. She exhales heavily. "I terminated the Alpha's pup. I had a one-night stand with him before I knew who he was. My contraception failed. Then he attacked. Alpha Julian wasn't the only one who died. Many others did too. He spared me only because he recognized me from our night together. I knew right then I couldn't keep it."

"I spent days in the mansion with him. He made all these promises to me. He asked for promises in return. Then he slaughtered my best friend. So I did what I had to do. I found a Human hospital. I couldn't go to our doctor. It would be a sin. I probably would have been killed. So I slipped out when I could. I had a good head start until he found me."

"And that's why you stripped her abilities?" I snap at Levi.

"I have my reasons."

*You should warn your Alpha about Alpha Silas. If you live nearby, you'll become a target. I guarantee it." Jasmine tells us.

I keep my mouth shut. She doesn't need to know the number of Wolves and Lycans in our pack.

*Come with me." I offer again. "You can tell them yourself."

"Why? You know nothing about me!"

"We have someone who can tell if you're lying."

"I don't understand."

"If you're telling the truth, you have nothing to fear."
