Chapter 85

Nathan's parents snatched the phone, their voices trembling. "You're pregnant? Where's the proof?"

Victoria quickly sent a photo of her pregnancy test report. The ultrasound clearly showed a four-week gestation result.

"Wonderful!" Nathan's mother clapped her hands in excitement. "I never thought we'd have a grandchild so soon!"

Nathan's father beamed with joy. After years of waiting, their dream was finally coming true. With Victoria carrying the Evans family heir, there was no way they'd call off the engagement now.

"Rest well and take care of the baby," Nathan's father declared firmly. "The wedding stands. Once the child is born, the Evans family will treat you right."

After hanging up, Victoria collapsed onto the couch, her back drenched in cold sweat. If the Evans family had broken the engagement, she'd have become the laughingstock of high society.

KL Design Group Headquarters.

A fiery red Ferrari parked arrogantly in front of the building. Olivia Valdemar strode inside in ten-centimeter heels, flanked by two bodyguards laden with luxury shopping bags.

The receptionist, mistaking her for a VIP client, eagerly escorted her to the design department.

Evelyn Roland was hunched over her desk, sketching designs. She wasn't working on KL projectsโ€”these were private commissions destined for overseas clients.

"Is Evelyn Roland here?"

Hearing that voice, Evelyn's pen stilled. She looked up to see Olivia standing at her office door, smiling sweetly. Alarm bells rang in Evelyn's mind.

"Can I help you, Olivia?" Evelyn set down her pen and rose calmly.

Olivia linked arms with her, eyes glistening with faux remorse. "About what happened the other day... I had to apologize in person."

She handed Evelyn a Hermรจs gift box, her voice sugary. "I was too impulsive. I nearly caused trouble for you and Sebastian. Did Victoria give you any problems?"

Evelyn's fingers turned cold at the memory of being locked in that room. She wasn't one to hold grudges, but she wouldn't easily trust someone who'd schemed against her.

"Let's forget it," Evelyn said with a faint smile. "Just don't let it happen again."

Olivia exhaled in exaggerated relief. Noticing the curious glances from colleagues, she clapped her hands lightly.

The bodyguards immediately distributed luxury bags to everyone in the office.

"I heard Evelyn is well-liked here," Olivia cooed. "Consider these little tokens my way of saying hello."

As colleagues unwrapped the gifts, gasps filled the roomโ€”each bag contained a limited-edition LV, the cheapest worth five figures.

"This is too much..." they murmured, yet clutched the bags tighter.

"Evelyn's talent is unmatched! Her designs always sell out!"

"Absolutely! She's the star of our department!"

Amid the sycophantic chorus, Evelyn's lips curled into a barely perceptible smirk.
