Chapter 492
Evelyn Roland's car was stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital, the line of vehicles ahead unmoving.
"Boss, looks like an accident up front," Bianca Savigny leaned out the window to check.
Evelyn glanced at her watch, brow slightly furrowed. Time ticked by as her fingers tapped impatiently on the steering wheel.
Half an hour later, the road finally cleared.
In the hospital's surveillance room, the on-duty technician wiped sweat from his brow as he frantically worked the computer.
"That's weird... all the surveillance footage is gone?"
Bianca peered at the screenโonly static. "Boss, this..."
Evelyn's eyes darkened, a cold smirk curling her lips. "Interesting."
The technician wrung his hands. "I swear I didn't touch anything! I just dozed off for a secondโ"
"Save it." Evelyn turned on her heel. "Bianca, let's go."
Bianca hurried after her. "We're just leaving it at that?"
"They beat us to it." Evelyn didn't slow her pace, a glint of steel in her eyes. "Whoever tampered with Valdemar Hospital's systems must have serious backing."
A shadowy figure slipped into an elevator at the end of the corridor.
Meanwhile, in the Galatea family study.
Victor Galatea set down the phone with a triumphant smile. "That little girl thinks she can outplay me?"
"Dad, she actually went to the hospital?" Scarlett Galatea sprang up from the sofa.
"Relax, the surveillance is already wiped clean." Victor narrowed his eyes. "You stay out of trouble for now."
Scarlett pouted, but unease flickered in her gaze.
In the hospital parking lot, Evelyn suddenly stopped.
"Boss?"
"Bianca, check which hospital executives visited today." Her gaze lifted toward the top-floor offices.
