Chapter 213
Felicity's fingers trembled.
She finally realized the seemingly fragile girl before her was someone even the entire Valentine family couldn't afford to provoke.
Her knees hit the floor with a thud.
"Miss Roland, please show mercy." Felicity clung desperately to Evelyn's leg. "I worked so hard to get where I am today..."
Tears streaked her ruined makeup, making her look like a ridiculous clown. Fiona Valentine quietly retreated before turning to leave.
The Valentines had long split into separate branches. She wasn't about to be dragged down by this idiot.
Evelyn looked down at her with icy detachment.
"You're not afraid of wrongdoing. You're afraid of me." Evelyn's lips curled in disdain. "Drop the act. It's disgusting."
Felicity froze.
In the next instant, she snatched a fruit knife and lunged at Evelyn.
"Die!"
The blade glinted coldlyโbut stopped half a meter short.
A piercing shriek tore from Felicity's throat.
Sebastian Valdemar had appeared on set without warning. His kick sent Felicity flying with blinding speed. Theodore Ashcroft immediately pulled out his phone to call an ambulance.
"Are you hurt?" Sebastian gripped Evelyn's wrist, his voice tense.
"I'm fine." She pulled her hand free. "It's Miss Valdemar..."
Olivia Valdemar leaned weakly against the wall. "Evelyn reacted just in time."
The three hurried to the hospital.
While packing, Evelyn discovered the brooch. Sunlight refracted through its gemstones in mesmerizing huesโthe final masterpiece of a Danish artisan.
She tucked it carefully into her bag.
Olivia only had a mild concussion, but Sebastian insisted on hospitalization. Six bodyguards formed an impenetrable barrier around her room.
"Need a new spokesperson?" Sebastian's intense gaze burned into Evelyn in the hallway.
"I already have someone in mind." She thought of director Blake Sherwood.
Sebastian opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off with a raised hand.
