Chapter 114

The warning had been given. If Isabella Langley refused to heed it, Evelyn Roland could do nothing more.

Watching Evelyn's retreating figure, Isabella smirked and dialed a number. "Keep eyes on her 24/7. Report even how many sips of water she takes."

Sunlight dappled the campus pathways as Evelyn walked toward the administration office, her steps light over the shifting shadows of leaves.

At the corner, a figure suddenly collided with her. The overpowering scent of cologne assaulted her senses.

Nathan Evans' revolting face loomed before her.

"Evelyn, it's over between Victoria and me," he said with feigned tenderness. "Give me a chance. I'll treat you twice as well."

Her lips curled in disdain. "Since when does trash from the Evans family deserve anything?"

Nathan's expression darkened, but he forced a smile. "Don't be ungrateful. Think about your peasant parents tilling the soil, and that mentally disabled brother of yoursโ€”"

A sharp crack cut him off.

His wrist snapped backward in Evelyn's grip, followed by a pig-like squeal of pain.

Stumbling back, Nathan crashed into the bushes, drawing raucous laughter from onlookers.

"Professor, this stalker won't leave me alone," Evelyn said, eyes glistening as she turned to the department head.

Ten minutes later, campus security dragged Nathan out by the collar, permanently banning him from school grounds.

At the cafรฉ, Dylan Orlando slid a document across the table. "Headquarters location is finalized. Just waiting on the blueprints and gemstone shipments."

He lowered his voice. "What about Valdemar Group? Should weโ€”"

"No need." Evelyn stirred her coffee. "Price war. For the first wave of clients, we'll take the loss."

Outside the window, a man in a baseball cap discreetly pressed his camera shutter.
