Chapter 434

The laboratory fell into abrupt silence as all eyes locked onto the slender figure in the doorway.

"Evelyn Roland!" Daniel Murphy growled through clenched teeth, storming forward. "You've got some nerve showing up here!"

David Murphy followed close behind, knuckles cracking. "You destroyed all our experimental data!"

Evelyn leaned against the doorframe, stifling a lazy yawn. "Proof?"

"The security footage caught you tampering with our computers!" Daniel roared.

Her lips curved into a smile, a glint of steel flashing in her eyes. "Guilty as charged."

Gasps rippled through the lab.

Sebastian Valdemar emerged from the crowd, his icy demeanor radiating authority. "Verify her data first."

"Mr. Valdemar!" Daniel protested.

"Now." Sebastian's tone brooked no argument.

Evelyn winked at him, a ghost of amusement playing on her lips.

On the lab bench, liquids in test tubes began reacting under the precision instruments.

"This can't be..." David stared at the monitor, voice trembling.

Daniel lunged for the microscope. "It worked? It actually worked!"

Researchers exchanged stunned glances. Someone murmured, "She solved our two-day problem in ten minutes..."

"Enough!" Daniel suddenly turned and bowed deeply to Evelyn. "Miss Roland, we were blind fools."

David followed with a ninety-degree bow. "Please forgive our disrespect."

Evelyn waved a dismissive hand. "Just happened to be passing by." Her lab coat swirled in a sharp arc as she turned.

In the corner, Scarlett Galatea dug her nails into her palms. Her burning gaze followed Evelyn's retreating figure, resentment churning in her eyes.

Daniel and David straightened, their expressions complicated as they glanced at Scarlett. The lab's atmosphere grew palpably tense.

"Assistant Galatea," Daniel asked gravely, "why were you so certain the data was destroyed?"

Scarlett's face drained of color.
