Chapter 105
Isabella's nails dug deep into her palms as she forced a strained smile.
"Mr. Macmillan, you've truly misunderstood Evelyn. She isn't that kind of person. You owe her an apology."
Evelyn curled her lips in disdain. "Make sure you kneel when you do it."
Gregory Macmillan's face darkened. As a senior executive, he would never grovel before some young upstart.
"Iโ"
His entire body trembled with rage.
Alexander's voice turned icy. "In that case, Mr. Macmillan, surrender all your shares. I'll acquire them at market price."
Gregory paled. He never should have listened to Isabella's instigation.
"Youโ" He tried to defend himself, but Isabella cut him off.
"Mr. Macmillan, a wise man knows when to yield."
Her tone was venomous, her eyes filled with silent threat. Gregory immediately fell silent.
Evelyn cast them a dismissive glance. "I quit."
With CH Jewelry Inc. preparing to enter the domestic market, she had no time for their petty games.
The conference room erupted in murmurs.
Adrienne Klein, the design director, stood abruptly. "Evelyn, please reconsider! You could lead KL's entire design department."
Her talent more than qualified her.
Even the marketing director nodded in agreement. The executives' support made Isabella seethe with jealousy.
Evelyn shook her head calmly. "Thank you for KL's guidance during my time here."
She turned and walked away without hesitation. Her colleagues exchanged stunned glancesโno one expected her to leave so decisively.
Isabella clenched her fists. Driving Evelyn out had been her goal, so why did she feel so suffocated?
How dare this nobody act so arrogantly? She was the Langley heiress!

At Blenheim Palace, Sophia burst into tears upon hearing her daughter had resigned.
"Evelyn, tell me honestlyโdid someone bully you?" She gripped her daughter's hands tightly.
Her long-lost treasureโshe wanted to shield her from any harm.
"Evelyn, speak up. No Roland child should suffer injustice." Edward's face was etched with concern.
The sudden affection made Evelyn uncomfortable.
"No one bullied me. I just didnโt want to stay." Her voice was soft.
Sophia immediately glared at her son. "Was it you? Did you upset your sister?"
"Mom!" Alexander laughed helplessly. "I wouldnโt dare! If Evelyn had stayed at KL, it wouldโve been my honor."
Bully Celadon? He wouldnโt have the courage even with ten lives to spare.
