Chapter 112

Sebastian Valdemar narrowed his eyes, his gaze shifting between Evelyn Roland and Alexander Roland.

The unspoken understanding between them was palpable.

A rumor suddenly surfaced in his mind.

"What a coincidence to find you here, Mr. Roland," Sebastian drawled, his voice laced with suspicion. "Could it be you came specifically to pick someone up?"

Evelyn's fingers twitched imperceptibly before she steadied herself.

"There was an issue with the project handover," Alexander replied smoothly, unperturbed. "The third-quarter reports didn't match."

He pulled a document from his briefcase with practiced ease.

"Since we ran into each other, I thought we might as well clarify things in person."

Sebastian's knuckles rapped lightly against the table as he studied the file.

"Is that so?"

Meanwhile, the Lowell mansion echoed with the sound of shattering glass.

"That bastard Nathan Evans!"

Victoria Lowell swept every bottle and jar off her vanity with a furious cry.

She snatched her phone, the screen still displaying the photo of Nathan standing beside Evelyn.

"Slut! Both of them!"

Margaret Hill burst into the room to find her daughter hacking at wedding photos with a pair of scissors.

"Mom! I want them to suffer!" Victoria screamed, her nails digging deep into her palms.

Margaret yanked the scissors away.

"Have you lost your mind?"

She dialed the Evans residence, her voice shrill with outrage.

"The Evans family owes us an explanation!"

A cold laugh came through the line.

"An explanation? What about your daughter faking a pregnancy to trap my son into marriage?"

Margaret's face drained of color.

In the Evans living room, Nathan swirled his wine glass with a smug smile.

"Donโ€™t worry, Mother."

His lips curled in satisfaction.

"Evelyn is just playing hard to get."

Mrs. Evans frowned. "But her status has changed now..."

"Even better," Nathan cut in. "Being the Roland family's son-in-law is far more valuable than the Lowells."

He recalled the way Evelyn used to look at him.

That kind of obsession couldnโ€™t just disappear.

"Just wait. Sheโ€™ll come crawling back to me soon enough."

Meanwhile, Alexander's car pulled away from the cafรฉ.

"Heโ€™s suspicious," Evelyn murmured, watching Sebastianโ€™s unmoving figure in the rearview mirror.

Alexander turned the steering wheel, his voice steady.

"Proceed as planned."

His sharp profile remained impassive, but a glint of determination flashed in his eyes.

"The game has only just begun."
