Chapter 486

Margaret Linton stared at her husband's limp arm dangling uselessly, tears flooding her eyes instantly.

"You must take full responsibility for my husband's arm too!" Her voice trembled with emotion, yet carried an unyielding edge.

Evelyn Roland arched an eyebrow.

"How much?"

Margaret wiped her tears and held up five fingers.

"Five million?"

"Fifty million!" she declared firmly.

Daniel and David Murphy at the door gasped audibly.

"Fifty million? This is outright robbery!"

Margaret sneered. "What's fifty million to people like you? My daughter is a vegetable now!"

Evelyn's gaze turned icy.

"Take it up with Mr. Valdemar. I opposed this project from the beginning."

"We're holding you responsible!"

Sebastian Valdemar appeared silently in the doorway, his long fingers tapping lightly against the frame.

"Shall I remind you both about the contract terms?"

Margaret became hysterical. "The contract didn't mention anyone dying! My daughter is lying there because of you!"

Suddenly, Evelyn moved.

She advanced step by step toward Richard Linton, who scrambled backward in fear.

A crisp snap echoed through the room.

Richard's limp arm suddenly regained mobility.

"I can fix it, and I can break it again," Evelyn murmured softly.

Richard crawled frantically into a corner.

"Ms. Roland." Sebastian approached.

Though they were still in a cold war, the chill around Evelyn visibly lessened.

"Handle this, Mr. Valdemar."

Seeing the tide turn, Richard started shouting again. "Murderers! Pay up!"

Sebastian's eyes flashed dangerously. "Call the police."

Both Lintons turned ashen.

At that moment, Scarlett Galatea arrived in her stilettos, swaying gracefully.

"Uncle, auntie, what's wrong?" She helped them up gently while shooting a challenging look at Evelyn.

Evelyn leaned lazily against the wall, a mocking smile playing on her lips.
