Chapter 104

"What do you mean by that, Mr. Macmillan?" Adrienne crossed her arms, her sharp gaze fixed on Gregory. Having worked closely with Evelyn for days, she knew the designer's character well.

"Playing dumb?" Gregory sneered, slamming a stack of photos onto the conference table. "Take a look yourself. Photos of Evelyn meeting Sebastian Valdemar in private. Care to explain?"

"As a KL employee, betraying the company from within is utterly despicable."

Evelyn's pupils contracted slightly. She hadn't expected her meeting with Sebastian to be secretly photographed.

"Mr. Macmillan, you've misunderstood Evelyn." Isabella suddenly stepped forward from the crowd, a sweet smile on her face. "Evelyn is the renowned Celadon. It's only natural she has admirers."

"I trust she would never betray the company."

Her words sounded pleasant, but a sinister glint flashed in her eyes. These photos were her doing.

Gregory was such a fool, easily manipulated.

"Miss Langley, you're too kind." Gregory immediately switched to a fawning tone. "But this is no trivial matter."

"This so-called 'master' clearly doesn't care about KL. Otherwise, why would she refuse to represent the company in the competition?"

"Or has she already found her next employer?" Gregory pressed aggressively, drawing more onlookers.

Changing jobs? How laughable.

Isabella caught sight of Alexander rushing over and quickly adopted a worried expression.

"Mr. Macmillan, please don't say that. You don't know Evelyn's connection to the Roland family. How could she harm the company?"

Whispers erupted instantly.

A connection to the Rolands? Could she be Alexander's mistress? The crowd's gazes turned suggestive.

"What's going on?" Alexander strode in, his face dark.

Gregory seized the chance to accuse Evelyn, even summoning other shareholders. The scene descended into chaos.

Alexander trusted Evelyn implicitly. But with her identity still concealed, he could only watch as the accusations flew.

This was exactly what Isabella wanted.

"Give us an explanation! KL's losses affect all shareholders!" someone shouted.

"An explanation?" Evelyn leaned lazily against the desk, a stark contrast to Hannah, who was stomping her feet in frustration.

"It's simple. I wanted to give the competition opportunity to Miss Langley. Is that reason enough?"

Her lips curled into a mocking smile. "If Celadon competed, what chance would she have?"

Isabella's face paled instantly. She wished she could vanish on the spot.

The room fell silent.

Even Alexander thought the remark was too blunt.

"Celadon would never betray KL," he said, trying to diffuse the tension.

"Empty words!" Gregory exploded. "No proof means you're guilty!"

"Proof?"

Evelyn shoved her laptop toward the crowd.

"Let the tech department investigate now. If they find any evidence I leaked company secrets, I'll kneel and apologize to you. But if they don'tโ€”"

She fixed Gregory with an icy stare. "You'll kneel and apologize to me."

Alexander nodded to the tech director, who stepped forward to inspect the laptop.

Ten minutes later, the director shook his head. "Evelyn's computer is clean. No traces of communication with Valdemar Group."

Gregory's face turned beet red.
