Chapter 406
"This can't be..."
Oliver Valrose's face turned deathly pale as he repeated the words, his lips trembling.
His fingers dug into his palms, but he felt no pain.
"Evelyn, you actually have the raw stone from Jadeite Mansion?" Alexander Roland's eyes gleamed, his voice rising with excitement.
"Thanks to Mr. Chen's help."
In the video, Mr. Chen chuckled and waved his hand. "You're too kind, Evelyn. I've recently acquired a batch of raw stones myself. They may not compare to Jadeite Mansion's, but the quality is decent. I'll bring them to A City for you to see another time."
"Thank you, Mr. Chen."
His words struck Oliver like a sledgehammer, rooting him to the spot.
"Mr. Chen, I have matters to attend to now. Let's talk another day."
The video ended abruptly.
The venue fell into stunned silence.
Everyone needed a moment to process this shocking twist.
"Oliver Valrose, do you have anything else to say?"
Evelyn Roland's voice was sharp as a blade, aimed directly at him.
The crowd's gazes toward him shifted instantly.
"Trash from a minor family. No class at all."
"Faking wealth in front of the real deal. Unbelievable."
"I actually believed his lies earlier!"
Oliver squirmed in his seat.
Cold sweat soaked through his shirt, trickling down his spine.
He suddenly jerked his head up, eyes darting toward the exit.
"Move!"
He lunged for the door.
But security had already stationed themselves there, grabbing him by the collar and hauling him up.
"Let me go!"
Oliver thrashed wildly, like a fish out of water.
"I warned you not to provoke me." Evelyn approached slowly, her heels clicking crisply against the floor. "Since you dared to come, you'll pay the price."
"Evelyn Roland! You set me up!"
"Only realizing it now? Too late."
Sebastian Valdemar spoke coldly. "How should we handle this?"
"Hand him over to the police." Evelyn narrowed her eyes. "There's still another debt he hasn't settled."
She hadn't forgotten the knife he'd used to stab Alice.
Applause suddenly broke out.
A well-dressed lawyer stepped forward from the crowd.
"Miss Roland."
"He's all yours."
Sebastian gave a signal, and security dragged Oliver away. The lawyer followed closely behind.
"Isabella! Help me!" Oliver suddenly shrieked. "This was allโ"
Isabella Langley cowered in a corner, wishing she could strangle this idiot.
Suppressing her fury, she forced out a few tears. "Oliver... I'm so disappointed in you... I really thought you were an honorable man..."
Evelyn crossed her arms, watching the farce unfold with icy detachment.
"Everyone, let's resume the charity auction." Scarlett Galatea smoothly stepped in to diffuse the tension.
