Chapter 156

Isabella Langley's nails dug deep into her palms.

Why?

All the affection that should have been hers was now stolen by that wretched woman!

"Deal." Olivia Valdemar turned gracefully, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor.

Isabella immediately plastered on a fake smile. "Sister, you don't even know medicine. How embarrassing will it be when you're exposed?"

She deliberately raised her voice so everyone could hear.

Alexander Roland frowned. "Isabella!"

"I'm just telling the truth," Isabella pouted, feigning innocence. "What if the Valdemars find out she's a fraud..."

"Who said I'm a fraud?" Evelyn Roland scoffed and walked straight toward Sophia Roland.

Her slender fingers lightly rested on Sophia's wrist.

"You've been suffering from insomnia, vivid dreams, and a weak spleen due to stomach coldness."

"Anyone can spout generic diagnoses," Isabella rolled her eyes dismissively.

Without looking up, Evelyn continued, "It's caused by excessive consumption of iced papaya. I recommend abstaining for three days."

The butler gasped. "Madam has indeed been eating iced papaya daily! How did you know, Miss Evelyn?"

Sophia covered her mouth in shock. "Evelyn, you..."

"Just a basic understanding," Evelyn replied with a faint smile.

Edward Roland eagerly extended his hand. "Check me next!"

"Your right knee has a meniscus injury. Apply ground beetle with rice wine as a poultice."

"Write that down!" Edward slammed the table excitedly. His chronic pain had been diagnosed in an instant.

Alexander also leaned in, asking for his sister's diagnosis.

No one noticed Isabella's livid expression. She stormed off, stomping her feet, with the assistant butler scrambling after her.

"Don't worry, Miss Isabella. The master and madam are just momentarily intriguedโ€”"

"Shut up!" Isabella's eyes darkened with malice. "That bitch won't be smug for long."

Meanwhile, at the Valdemar mansion...

Olivia hummed a tune as she pushed open the door.

"Sis, what's got you so happy?" Sebastian Valdemar set down his documents.

"I solved your big problem." Olivia twirled. "I canceled the engagement with the Langley girl."

Sebastian shot to his feet. "What?"

"No more harassment from Isabella Langley." She winked triumphantly. "Oh, and I invited Evelyn to examine you soon."

"She's at the Rolands?" Sebastian's pupils constricted sharply.

"Yes, her medical skills are incredibleโ€”"

Before she could finish, Sebastian had already bolted out the door.
