Chapter 258

Evelyn Roland suddenly smacked her forehead.

She had completely forgotten today was Theodore Valdemar's birthday gala. The Valdemar family always made a grand celebration of this occasion every year.

At least she'd prepared the gift in advance.

"Mom, I'll be right there!" Evelyn called out, scrambling out of bed.

She rushed through her morning routine and applied light makeup. Just as she selected an elegant pastel gown, the living room's dazzling display nearly blinded her.

"Alexander, are you hosting a jewelry exhibition?" Evelyn gaped.

Alexander Roland gestured proudly at the glittering collection on the sofa. "I designed these pieces especially for you."

Sophia Roland chuckled behind her hand. "My own son never creates jewelry for his mother."

Warmth flooded Evelyn's chest, making her eyes prickle.

"Come try these gowns," Sophia urged, leading her to a rack of exclusive haute couture dresses, each worth a fortune.

"We can't let the Roland name down at the Valdemar event," Sophia said with a smile.

Evelyn's throat tightened under her family's affectionate gazes.

After hours of meticulous preparation, she chose a gown designed by Adrienne Kleinโ€”a simple off-shoulder silhouette with delicate lace accents that accentuated her ethereal grace.

Paired with Alexander's jewelry, she radiated elegance.

"My daughter is breathtaking," Sophia approved.

Evelyn eyed her reflection wryly. "This is hardly 'casual dressing'..."

"Time to depart." A deep, melodic voice sounded from the doorway.

Julian Roland entered, his gaze lingering on his sister with undisguised admiration. "All set?"

Alexander slung an arm around his brother's shoulders. "Julian brought the limited-edition Maybach. We're making an entrance today."

Julian simply smiled as the brothers headed out.

Footsteps suddenly echoed on the staircase. Isabella Langley descended leisurely, flashing Evelyn a saccharine smile from behind their parents.
