Chapter 250

The sound of shattering glass exploded in the private room as colorful liquor seeped into the carpet.

"Stop drinking. Your physical condition needs reevaluation."

Evelyn Roland snatched the glass from Sebastian Valdemar's hand and shot Joanna Garten a meaningful glance. "Get a suite ready."

Joanna pouted. "Weren't we supposed to teach this scumbag a lesson? Why are we taking care of him now?" She leaned closer to Evelyn's ear. "Don't tell me you actually have feelings for Sebastianโ€”"

"Enough. Just go."

After Joanna left, Evelyn struggled to lift the unconscious Sebastian. The crystal chandelier in the suite cast their elongated shadows across the floor.

She had just settled him onto the bed when her phone buzzed urgently.

"Where are you? Something's wrong."

Silas Eisner's voice carried an unusual tension.

Within twenty minutes of Evelyn giving the address, a sharp knock sounded at the door. Peering through the peephole to confirm it was Silas, she barely had time to open it before a cold blade pressed against her throat.

"Silas!"

The door slammed shut behind him. Silas slowly dragged the knife across his own reflection in the mirror, his lips twisting into a grotesque smile.

"Still can't figure it out?" His gaze slid past Evelyn to the unconscious Sebastian. "Don't worry. I'll let you two go together."

Evelyn's back hit the wall as her fingers stealthily inched toward the silver needles hidden at her waist.

"Who sent you?"

Silas's expression contorted violently. "Shut up!" The blade nicked her neck, drawing a thin line of blood. "Do you really think stalling will help?"

The room filled with nothing but heavy breathing. Evelyn's pulse spiked when she noticed Sebastian's fingers twitch in her peripheral vision.

"You know what?" Silas suddenly leaned in, pressing the icy blade against her cheek. "Watching prey struggle is the most entertaining part."

At that moment, Sebastian's eyes snapped open on the bed.
