Chapter 128

Sebastian Valdemar took a step back and turned toward the black sedan parked by the roadside.

"Get in."

Evelyn Roland gave a slight nod and quickly followed. The Rolls-Royce's engine rumbled low before vanishing into the night.

Meanwhile, inside the abandoned factory.

Two men in black clutched their heads as they staggered to their feet. Their faces paled at the sight of the empty warehouse.

"We're done for..." One of them trembled as he dialed a number.

Isabella Langley's shrill scream erupted from the other end. "What? She got away? You useless idiots!"

"Boss, please calm down! We'll head to the Colorado Mines right now to intercept her!"

Isabella hung up, standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows with a cold smirk. Lightning flashed outside, illuminating her twisted expression.

"Do you really think you can escape? That mine will be your grave."

At the Colorado Mines.

Raindrops began to fall as Evelyn finally located the chief engineer, Hugo Flores.

"Hugo, I need the truth about the mining disaster."

Hugo's face drained of color. He spun on his heel to leave.

Thud!

A heavy fist suddenly struck his face. Theodore Ashcroft appeared behind him, leisurely rolling up his sleeves.

Sebastian stood in the rain, his gaze icy.

"I'll talk!" Hugo collapsed to the ground, rainwater mixing with blood on his face. "It was all Isabella's doing! She forced us to cover up the accident to hide the truth..."

Evelyn clenched her fists. The rain intensified.

In the distance, tires screeched.
