Chapter 447
"Ms. Roland, these marks..." The principal's face paled as she pointed with trembling fingers at the needle marks covering Ruby's arms.
The teacher gasped, rushing forward to inspect them.
The tiny scars blended almost seamlessly with her skin, nearly invisible unless examined closely. Ruby always sat quietly in the cornerโno one had imagined she carried such a terrible secret.
"Care to explain?" Evelyn Roland's voice was ice-cold.
The couple turned ghostly white, their lips trembling wordlessly.
The livestream viewer count skyrocketed, comments flooding the screen.
[New hereโwhat's happening?]
[Those monsters abused their autistic daughter!]
[Ms. Roland is a hero for exposing them!]
"Ruby," Evelyn knelt to meet the little girl's eyes. "Tell me what happened."
Ruby clutched her sleeves, her voice barely audible. "They... poked me with needles... called me worthless..."
Before she could finish, the child threw herself into Evelyn's arms, her small frame shaking like a leaf.
Evelyn's eyes darkened, her nails digging into her palms.
"That's not true!" the woman shrieked. "We had no choice! She's been like this since birthโthe neighbors judged us, we couldn't take it anymoreโ"
The man dropped to his knees, sobbing. "We were wrong, we admit itโ"
The room erupted in outrage.
"Call the police," the principal said, voice shaking as she pulled out her phone. "People like you don't deserve to be parents."
As sirens wailed in the distance, a clear child's voice suddenly rang out: "Sister!"
Everyone turned to see a porcelain-skinned little boy sprinting toward them. Behind him, Sebastian Valdemar walked slowly with a stunning woman on his arm.
The livestream exploded.
[Mr. Valdemar?!]
[Is that his wife?]
[Their visuals are insane!]
Ruby lifted her tear-streaked face to the newcomers. But Sebastian's gaze remained fixed on Evelyn, his eyes swirling with unreadable emotion.
