Chapter 337
The moment the call ended, Isabella Langley nearly threw her phone across the room.
"That bastard!"
She glared at the darkened screen, her chest heaving with rage.
How dare Oliver Valrose hang up on her first?
If it weren't for that incident, she would never have gotten involved with someone like him. Now she couldn't even shake him off.
Isabella massaged her temples, a dull ache pulsing behind her eyes.
The winery was unusually quiet at night.
Evelyn Roland woke up starving.
She blinked groggily, noticing the city lights glowing outside her window.
Her stomach growled in protest.
Dragging herself downstairs, she nearly tripped over Bianca Savigny crouching by the door.
"Master!"
The girl's eyes lit up as she proudly presented a tray of food.
"You waited here the whole time?"
Evelyn's heart warmed at the sight of steaming dishes arranged with Bianca's signature flair.
"I knew you'd wake up soon." Bianca grinned, her eyes crinkling like crescent moons. "All your favorites."
"Thank you."
Evelyn accepted the tray, her fingers brushing the warm porcelain.
"Master, let's go stargazing tomorrow!" Bianca suddenly suggested. "They say the countryside has the clearest skies."
Her hopeful eyes sparkled with excitement.
Evelyn opened her mouth to agree when her phone rang.
"Mom" flashed across the screen.
"Evelyn? Why are you eating so late?"
Sophia Roland immediately noticed the meal in the video call, her brows knitting together.
"Mom, Iโ"
Evelyn swiftly pulled Bianca into frame.
"Auntie!" Bianca chirped seamlessly. "I made Master taste-test my new recipes!"
She beamed, sticking out her tongue playfully.
Sophia chuckled. "Is that so?"
Her gaze softened as it returned to her daughter. "Evelyn, you've lost weight again."
