Chapter 264

Olivia Valdemar's eyes instantly welled up with tears. The soft touch of Theodore's little hand sent a warm current through her heart.

"Let me try treating Theodore's condition." Evelyn Roland's voice was gentle as flowing water. "It may take some time."

Olivia's throat tightened with emotion. Theodore's progress today felt like sunlight piercing through her gloomy world.

From the corner, Isabella Langley watched coldly, her nails digging deep into her palms.

She pulled out a pre-written note and stopped a passing waiter. "Please give this to the gentleman in the suit."

When Oliver Valrose unfolded the paper, his lips curled into an amused smirk. Adjusting his tie, he strode briskly toward the elevator.

Isabella's crimson lips twisted into a sneer.

At the same moment, Evelyn's phone vibrated abruptly.

"Room 203." A mechanical electronic voice spoke through the receiver.

Olivia inquired with concern, but Evelyn merely shook her head. Her gaze lingered thoughtfully toward the stairwell before excusing herself to the restroom.

The turning doorknob echoed unnaturally loud in the empty hallway.

Inside, an eerie silence hung under the cold glow of a crystal chandelier. The moment Evelyn stepped forward, the scuff of leather shoes sounded behind her.

The door slammed shut with a resounding thud.

Oliver lunged like a starved wolf, his tie askew. "Evelyn, I knew you'd come."

Evelyn sidestepped with feline grace, her back pressing against the icy wall. Narrowing her eyes, she demanded, "Who sent you?"
