Chapter 155

Eugene Lefรจvre avoided eye contact, stammering, "It's not Mr. Sebastian..."

Before he could finish, Isabella Langley was already rushing toward the door, calling out to the guards, "Let them in at once!"

Her smile froze when she saw who had arrived.

Olivia Valdemar gave a graceful bow to the Roland elders. "I'm Olivia Valdemar, Sebastian's sister. Forgive the intrusion."

"Please have a seat, Ms. Valdemar." Edward Roland gestured for tea to be served.

Isabella stomped her foot in disappointment. "Why are you here?"

"Who else were you expecting?" Olivia settled onto the sofa, her gaze sweeping over the dining area.

She adjusted her wristwatch, her tone icy. "Sebastian won't be coming to see you again."

"What do you mean?" Isabella's eyes welled up as she bit her lip hard. "Our families still have a marriage arrangementโ€”"

Olivia raised a hand to cut her off. "He came to break it off last time, but it wasn't formally dissolved."

Her attention suddenly shifted to the dining table. "I heard the Rolands recently welcomed a long-lost daughter?"

Sophia Roland instinctively shielded Evelyn.

This Valdemar heiress radiated too much dominance. She would never allow her daughter to marry into such a family.

"Correct." Sophia's voice was firm. "Since we're on the topic, consider the engagement void."

"Mother!" Isabella tugged at her sleeve in panic.

Alexander Roland held his daughter back. "Enough."

Olivia nodded in approval. "Perfect."

As she stood, her eyes locked onto Evelyn with disbelief. "Youโ€” Are you the one theyโ€”"

"Good evening, Ms. Valdemar." Evelyn spoke first. "I'm here to examine Mrs. Roland."

She added smoothly, "We share the same surname, so she kindly invited me to stay for dinner."

Olivia studied her. "I see."

A sudden spark lit her eyes. "Since Mrs. Roland trusts your medical skills, perhaps you could examine Sebastian in a few days?"

Evelyn's heartbeat stuttered.

Sebastian's mysterious condition had always intrigued her.

"The honor would be mine," she heard herself say.

Isabella dug her nails into her palms.

This bastard was trying to steal Sebastian again! She'd sensed something off that day in the office. No way would she let this stray snatch what rightfully belonged to her.

The title of Mrs. Valdemar was hers alone!
