Chapter 208
Sunlight streamed through the glass ceiling of the film set. Evelyn Roland walked through the bustling crowd in her stilettos, her silhouette strikingly elegant amidst the interplay of light and shadow. The black tailored suit accentuated her flawless figure.
"Look over there!"
"My God, that aura is incredible!"
"Is she a new artist signed by some agency?"
Stagehands whispered among themselves, stealing glances at Evelyn. Their murmurs drifted to Felicity Valentine's ears.
Felicity's fingers tightened around her water bottle.
"Cousin..." Fiona Valentine leaned in, lowering her voice. "That bitch is here."
Felicity narrowed her eyes, following her cousin's gaze.
"You know her?"
"Know her?" Fiona gritted her teeth. "She's an expert at backstabbing. Be careful."
Felicity snorted and tossed her water bottle carelessly by the poolside.
"Her? Really?"
Nearby, the director and screenwriter were pointing at Evelyn.
"That look is perfect for our female lead!"
"Go ask which agency she's with!"
Felicity's expression darkened instantly.
Evelyn approached them and nodded politely.
"Miss Valentine, may I have a word? About a potential collaboration."
Felicity gave her a once-over, her lips curling into a mocking smile.
"Collaboration? With you?"
The set fell silent.
Evelyn turned to leave, but Felicity stopped her.
"Wait." She pointed to the water bottle by the pool. "Pick that up, and maybe I'll give you five minutes."
Evelyn paused, then slowly turned back.
"Are you disabled?"
The entire set held its breath.
Felicity shot to her feet. "What did you just say?"
"I said," Evelyn enunciated clearly, "are your hands broken?"
"Evelyn Roland!" Fiona shrieked. "How dare you speak to my cousin like that!"
Felicity trembled with rage. "Is this how you ask for a collaboration?"
"Collaboration?" Evelyn smirked. "You misunderstand, Miss Valentine. I'm here to acquire your company."
