Chapter 467

Julian Montgomery's expression darkened when Victoria Sinclair spoke. Could she have discovered Evelyn Carter's true identity?

That seemed impossible. If Victoria truly knew who Evelyn was, her reaction would be entirely different.

Julian quickly composed himself. "Really? Did you recall some forgotten details from the orphanage records?"

Victoria's face showed slight discomfort.

"Yes, it came to me recently. When I saw her on campus, I immediately felt this strange familiarity since we used to be close friends."

"Only yesterday did I realize she might be the person your family has been searching for."

"Why didn't you mention this yesterday?" Julian's gaze turned probing.

Victoria answered smoothly, "There have been so many false leads over the years. I didn't want to disappoint you again."

"So I had someone discreetly verify her identity first before bringing you this good news."

Seeing Victoria's confident demeanor, Julian pressed further. "Who exactly is this person you've found?"

"Her name is Danielle Spencer, a Literature major. We grew up in the same orphanage. It wasn't until we reminisced about childhood that I recognized her."

Julian nodded. "I'll conduct a thorough investigation."

"In that case, I'll contact Alexander immediately. He and Sebastian should come meet their long-lost relative."

A cold glint flashed in Julian's eyes. "Of course," he replied.

Victoria's spirits lifted at his compliance.

"By the way, Julian, I noticed Evelyn getting quite close with Christopher at yesterday's music event. When did she become so familiar with our family?"

Detecting her probing, Julian responded calmly, "I can't explain it, but I feel an instant connection with Evelyn, like she's my little sister. I believe Christopher feels the same."

Victoria's smile faltered momentarily. "I see! But now that we've found your real sister, you won't need a substitute anymore."

Julian's gaze deepened. "You're right. With my biological sister found, there's no need for stand-ins."

"Very well, Julian. I won't disturb you further."

As Victoria walked away, a triumphant smirk crossed her face. With Danielle assuming Evelyn's identity, her position as heiress would be secured.

Danielle's vanity knew no bounds. If she could steal her best friend's identity, what couldn't she achieve?

But that wasn't enough - Evelyn needed to be completely eliminated as a threat!

As long as Evelyn was gone, she could never threaten Victoria's status.

Exiting the building, Victoria approached Robert. "Have you found anything useful in your investigation of Evelyn?"

"I've discovered something crucial: Evelyn is actually pregnant. These are prenatal records from the hospital, though not under her name."

"Through my inquiries during this period, I've confirmed Evelyn attended these appointments."

Victoria's expression hardened. "She's pregnant? Who's the father?"

"The paternity is unclear. But Mr. Julian has been helping conceal Evelyn's pregnancy and fabricating her false identity."

Learning about the pregnancy made Victoria seethe with anger.

Had she known earlier, she might have suspected Julian was the father. But now, she couldn't shake the conviction the child was Nathaniel's!

Given the timing of Evelyn's pregnancy and her intimate encounter with Nathaniel, everything aligned perfectly!
