Chapter 436

"Sorry for worrying you, Andrew."

"Don't apologize. I'm just relieved you're unharmed. As much as I despise Nathaniel Whitmore, I'm grateful he was there when you needed him."

"Evelyn, you don't have to shoulder everything alone anymore. You have usโ€”your family."

A soft smile curved Evelyn's lips. "I know. But these past few weeks have beenโ€ฆ complicated. I want to finish my credits and graduate. Iโ€™m working hard so I can move back to Nord City with all of you."

Andrew wasnโ€™t surprised. Alexander had been working tirelessly to make that happen.

He studied her carefully. "Evelyn, when are you planning to tell Alexander and the others about you and Nathaniel?"

"After we return to Nord City. Iโ€™m afraid Alexander might confront him on my behalf. Since Iโ€™m leaving soon anyway, thereโ€™s no need to stir up more trouble. I just hope he wonโ€™t be upset that I kept this from him."

"He wonโ€™t be. And when the time comesโ€ฆ I have something to tell you too."

After much deliberation, the Montgomery brothers had decided to reveal the truth to Evelyn the day she returned to Nord City.

That she was the true Montgomery heiressโ€”not Victoria Sinclair.

"Alright." Evelyn simply nodded, trusting her brothers implicitly. She knew they would never do anything to hurt her.

Everything at home seemed normalโ€”except for the troubled expression on Christopherโ€™s face when he visited later that evening.

The moment Margaret stepped into the kitchen, Christopher lowered his voice. "Evelyn, are you really okay? No oneโ€™s giving you trouble, right?"

"Iโ€™m fine. I just fainted in the cafeteria because of low blood sugar. He took me to the hospital."

Christopher scoffed. "Thatโ€™s the least he could do."

Something was off about him, and Evelyn sensed it. She tugged his sleeve gently. "Christopher, I didnโ€™t mean to keep you in the dark."

"Iโ€™m not mad at you. Iโ€™m furious at him. That bastard doesnโ€™t deserve you! And yet he had the audacity to ask for a divorce instead of taking care of you? Iโ€™ll never forgive him for that!"

Andrew interjected, "I already gave him a piece of my mind about it."

The way Christopher and Andrew strategized ways to confront Nathaniel made Evelyn uneasy.

Quietly, she retreated to her room and dialed Julian. He was the only one who knew the full story.

Christopher and Andrew knew about the divorceโ€”but not the pregnancy.

No one answered. Julian was likely in surgery.

She sent him a text, explaining what had happened, hoping he could talk some sense into Christopher and Andrew.

The next morning, a headline caught her eye the moment she unlocked her phone.

"Renowned Singer Georgia Wiseman Spotted with Mystery Beau! Secret Dinner Date Exposed."

The mention of the famous singer made Evelyn freeze.

The last person linked to Georgia in a scandal had been Nathaniel.

Now that she was seen with someone newโ€ฆ had Nathaniel been dumped?

Evelyn tapped the article, only to find a blurry photo of the couple from behind. One of them looked strangely familiar.
