Chapter 321

Evelyn deliberately let the folder slip from her fingers, ensuring it landed directly in Victoria's line of sight.

Burning with resentment, Evelyn was determined to stir up trouble for them all.

With Eleanor in surgery, Evelyn saw no need to hold back anymore.

Beatrice's face paled when she spotted the fallen documents. "Evelyn Carter! Must you be so careless with important papers? Pick that up immediately!"

What if Victoria saw its contents?

"Of course."

Evelyn took her sweet time retrieving the folder, making sure Victoria got a good look at the bolded title on the first page. She couldn't resist flashing a triumphant smirk at her rival.

Victoria's expression instantly darkened. "Mrs. Whitmore, what exactly is this document about?"

Evelyn's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Isn't it obvious? Can't you read? Grandmother Eleanor had us sign this right before her surgery."

"The baby I'm carrying will be the sole heir to Whitmore Enterprises. Any offspring from other women..." Evelyn paused dramatically, "...will be legally excluded."

As she delivered this blow, Evelyn watched with satisfaction as Victoria's face twisted in barely concealed rage. This gold-digger who'd been scheming to marry into the Whitmore family would surely explode when she realized what this meant.

Soon, Evelyn felt Nathaniel's piercing gaze burning into her.

She met his eyes calmly, tilting her chin in defiance.

With Eleanor under the knife, Evelyn had nothing left to lose.

Since Beatrice and Victoria had pushed her this far, Evelyn was determined to make them regret it.

Though she didn't actually care about the inheritance document, Evelyn refused to let these two vipers continue their arrogant schemes.

She would ruin their plans completely.

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained silent.

Beatrice rushed to explain, "Ms. Sinclair, please don't misunderstand. This document isn't legitimate!"

Evelyn deliberately flipped to the signature page, displaying Nathaniel's unmistakable handwriting. "Signed and sealed. How much more real can it get?"

Beatrice countered, "Evelyn, this only applies if you're actually pregnant. But we all know that belly of yours is just padding - a lie to convince Grandmother to have the surgery!"

Penelope nodded vigorously. "Exactly! Evelyn, you were never pregnant. This document means nothing to you."

"Are you seriously trying to trap Nathaniel into fathering your child?" Penelope sneered.

Beatrice jabbed a finger at Evelyn. "Stop your delusions, Evelyn. Nathaniel would never have a child with you. Signing that paper changes nothing. Give up this ridiculous fantasy."

Seeing Beatrice's accusatory finger, Evelyn abruptly swung the folder, smacking her hand away. "Mind your manners. Pointing is terribly rude."

"I wasn't going to sign it initially," Evelyn continued coolly, "but since you're so insistent, it would be disrespectful not to, wouldn't it?"

Beatrice recoiled, trembling with fury. "Nathaniel, are you hearing this? This is Evelyn's true colors. Don't let her fool you."

Victoria's eyes gleamed as she seized the moment to play victim. "Mrs. Whitmore, surely you didn't mean to strike Beatrice? She's your mother-in-law, for heaven's sake!"

Evelyn shrugged nonchalantly. "Sorry, but this is just who I am. I've got a temper and I don't play nice."

As she spoke, Evelyn casually glanced up at Nathaniel, radiating indifference.

All eyes turned to him, waiting for his reaction.

Nathaniel's voice cut through the tension like ice. "This document came from Grandmother. Her decisions aren't up for debate." His gaze swept over them all. "With her in surgery, I don't have time for this nonsense."
