Chapter 312
"Absolutely correct. But considering my expertise as a designer, I can't just decline a styling request, can I?"
When it came to dressing her ex-husband, Evelyn was willingโfor a price.
Charging ten thousand dors per session was undeniably profitable.
Nathaniel casually handed his phone to Abigail. "Handle the arrangements. I have other matters to attend to."
Evelyn clenched her teeth. "Payment upfront, please."
Nathaniel swiftly retrieved his phone and transferred the agreed amount.
Seeing the ten thousand dors reflected in her account, Evelyn inhaled deeply and plastered on a professional smile.
"Do you have any specific preferences for the outfit? Or details about the event you're attending?"
Nathaniel arched a brow, impressed by her sudden professionalism. "A business gala this weekend."
With that, he strode out of the bedroom.
Evelyn leaned back, exhaling slowly.
She knew exactly what Nathaniel should wear to a business galaโbut executing it would be bitter.
Then, as she stared at the freshly deposited ten thousand dors, an idea struck.
"Abigail, open the bottom drawer. There's a bright red suit inside. Pair it with these accessories and leave it here."
Abigail eyed the vibrant ensemble skeptically. "Are you certain about this?"
Nathanielโs wardrobe was typically filled with neutralsโblack, white, gray. This choice was... bold.
"Trust my judgment. Iโm the stylist here," Evelyn assured, though she knew Nathaniel would never pick this himself.
That was precisely why she chose it.
If he trusted her enough to let her style him, she might as well have some fun with it.
After finalizing the outfit, Evelyn left the marital villa in high spirits.
She hailed a taxi and arrived at her neighborhood entrance.
Hunger gnawed at her, so she stopped at a street vendor for tacos.
Just as she took her first bite, Julianโs voice startled her from behind. "Evelyn, what are you eating?"
Her posture stiffened briefly before she turned.
Julian stepped out of his car, his expression unreadable.
"I was just grabbing a late-night snack," she explained quickly.
Admitting she hadnโt eaten dinner would only earn her another lecture.
He joined her, ordering tacos for himself. "Watching you eat made me hungry."
Relieved by his calm demeanor, Evelyn relaxed.
They sat across from each other, savoring their meal in comfortable silence.
Afterward, they walked side by side toward the residential area.
Evelyn wasnโt surprised to see Julianโhe owned property nearby too.
"You look exhausted," he observed.
She touched her face and chuckled. "Just work stress."
"Evelyn, carrying twins is no small feat. Maybe you should consider taking a break from work and focusing on your studies."
After a pause, she nodded. "Iโll talk to Jonathan at the studio later."
Lately, work had been overwhelmingโespecially with the unwanted attention.
Maintaining a low profile seemed the safest option.
Julian gently brushed her hair back. "Being a single mother wonโt be easy. Are you sure you want to keep Nathanielโs children?"
