Chapter 412

Nathaniel leaned back in his leather chair, his piercing gaze fixed on Andrew standing across from him.

The silence stretched between them like a taut wire.

Andrew finally extended a crisp business card across the polished mahogany desk.

"I'm from Montgomery & Associates in Northridge. I'm representing Ms. Carter regarding your divorce proceedings."

Nathaniel barely glanced at the card before pushing it aside. "What exactly does Evelyn want now?"

Andrew smoothly produced a thick folder from his briefcase, spreading the documents across the desk.

"This outlines the proposed asset division. I suggest you review it carefully, Mr. Whitmore."

Nathaniel didn't even look at the papers. "She swore she wouldn't take a dime. What changed?"

Evelyn hadn't just changed her mind - she'd sent the Montgomery family's top attorney to negotiate!

The woman had certainly stepped up her game.

Andrew suppressed a smirk. Just as Julian predicted, Evelyn genuinely hadn't wanted anything.

But as a seasoned divorce attorney, Andrew knew money was the best leverage. He'd make Nathaniel pay dearly.

"The reasons don't matter," Andrew said smoothly. "For an amicable divorce, I recommend signing as is."

Nathaniel snatched the papers without reading, scrawling his signature violently across the last page before shoving them back.

"Tell Evelyn this is her last chance to change her mind," he growled. "I won't be so accommodating next time."

Andrew arched an eyebrow at the signature. "You're not even going to read it?"

"Nothing in there interests me," Nathaniel snapped.

Typical Nathaniel - always brutally direct.

Andrew nodded, leaving one copy on the desk. "Per the agreement, you'll need to begin transfers within 48 hours."

Nathaniel simply flicked the documents toward Robert. "Handle it."

As Andrew packed up, he shot Nathaniel a final look. "At least you're ending this marriage with some dignity."

Nathaniel's stony silence spoke volumes.

Once Andrew left, Robert scanned the agreement and went pale. "Sir... shouldn't you review this?"

Did Nathaniel realize he was signing away his entire fortune?

After her last lecture, Evelyn checked her watch and hurried toward campus gates.

Exhausted from back-to-back classes, she craved an early night.

At the entrance, she spotted Andrew leaning against a sleek black sedan.

"Evelyn!" he called.

She jogged over. "Andrew? What are you doing here?"

He handed her a takeout bag. "Thought you might be hungry. Traffic's terrible this time of day."

"Thanks," she smiled, sliding into the passenger seat.

Her fingers brushed against a leather briefcase. "Coming from work?"

"Just wrapped up a divorce case," Andrew said casually as he pulled into traffic. "Go ahead, take a look."

Evelyn froze, sudden dread coiling in her stomach.

She pulled out the documents, her breath catching at "Asset Division Agreement."

As her eyes flew down the staggering list of holdings being transferred to her name, all color drained from her face.
